Hi, I am John. I came here for love to join my wife about a year ago. Everyone speaks English in Germany, so that’s not a problem. I wanted to work as a Painting and English teacher, which didn’t seem to be a problem at first. But to be self employed is difficult in Germany. Opening a bank account was already quite a hassle, when I called the bank to discuss a specific issue, no one understood English.

I regularly went to the DNart seminar on business law, self employment etc. for artists, which helped a lot. Also, DNart helped me by making several calls to the bank and where able to sort out any issues quickly. At the seminar, I could connect to other people there as well, some have become friends in the meantime.
